Tan lluny, tan a prop

Leopold Samsó

(Barcelona, 1946 - )

Leopold Samsó (Barcelona, 1946) is a photographer well-known for his famous portraits of figures in the world of art and culture. However, he also explores other techniques, such as cultural and landscape reporting, which truly transforms him into a multifaceted artist and one who, with his gaze, contributes a dialogue between the photographer and what is photographed.

This exhibition proposes a tour through various territories and locations, and also portraits, whereby the artist lends us his gaze to discover the most effervescent Barcelona in the seventies, juxtaposed with the vast and barren landscapes in Andalusia and Portugal.

The exhibition, which will be held at Palau Solterra in Torroella de Montgrí, is an expression of gratitude to the artist for making a donation of part of his collection to the Fundació and, at the same time, a great chance to get a glimpse of his most recent project, a combination of photography and documentary about Iceland, jointly produced with Franc Aleu.

Exhibition curated by Pilar Parcerisas.
