The exhibition Ricard Duran i Bargalló (1916-1986): mirada, llum i equilibri (gaze, light and balance), curated by Eduard Bertran, invites the public on a tour of the complete works by Ricard Duran, the relatively unknown Catalan photographer who has nonetheless left us a high-quality photographic legacy.
From the perspective of Duran’s spirit of visual analysis, this exhibition is organized in two main themes of work: the first part is documentary and as a testimony to Barcelona in the final years of Francoism, and the second part has clear influences from north-American straight photography and above all the New Objectivity from interwar Germany.
