MIGUEL RASERO / Glòria Bosch

Every day we have to face a new challenge with illusion, with the energy of life, as if you felt on a tightrope, from solitude, "but the Angel is announced: stay sun to receive it. The Angel, for us, is the night fallen on the track, that your solitude, paradoxically, is in the light of day, and the darkness is made up of a thousand eyes that judge you, fear you and wait for your fall on the track, that your solitude, paradoxically, is in the light of day, and the darkness is made up of a thousand eyes that judge you, fear you and wait for your fall...”

Walking on the void... Life walks on the void, a hole that is filled with...

Homenaje a Genet
1999
Painting
Mixed media on wood

Rasero's inner monologue advances through a tensile thread, where one walks over the vacuum, fragility and uncertainty of a tightrope. To feel excluded from a world of which you think you do not belong and at the same time to live life with all the strength. Become a funambulist walking on the rope that unites past and future, making balances so as not to fall into the void while you feel all your life beating in your face. A constant metaphor about the unstable equilibrium of falling into the void by paying homage to Jean Genet in his work El objeto invisible. El funámbulo.

In the Juicio Final, Rasero again refers to the fragility and uncertainty of human existence. A work of great dimensions with a series of woods piled in two groups that maintain a precarious balance, always making reference to this fragility of life. In the middle of this piece we find a point of equilibrium that can give rise to a point and apart. This is when we ask ourselves, if painting arises from an inner monologue or is it only a way to incite dialogue? Only we have the key.

Attracted by the exploration of other creative techniques, Rasero looks back to focus on the simplicity of the stroke, of those drawings that adorned the Greek ceramics or the aged frescoes of the Pompeii paintings. A simple stroke but with a sophisticated design, like the graphic representations of the first neural studies. Rasero considers himself an artist who likes, as he rightly says, to change his costume according to the song he plays. Lightness hides a contraposition between the corporeal and the ethereal, the weightlessness of space and gravity.

With certain references to contemporary artists, Rasero plays with abstract expressionism and basic color ranges. This strong energy made resurrect the painting that some were killing, it was a way of posing outburst to sanity, of breaking encrusted customs. Now there was a new paradigm, an infinite horizon waiting for someone to ride on it, an unrestricted creation and enjoy the process. Why sometimes the inner monologue is also about this, about letting go and exploring other pathways of creation. Rasero's funambulum is sometimes immersed in structures like the ones we see here, colorful rooms.

Many times we must look inside and outside in order to transform the process of creation in order to look for a position where to situate ourselves. Coming out of this inner blindness is something painful and many become trapped in the psychic conflict that we have to be all that is inside of us, without knowing if there is anything. To get out you have to look outside, that's why Rasero chooses still life, De Vegetabilibus, woods and constructivism. Finding elements of nature that can form part of the work, as in the case of the Barraca series where simple materials fit perfectly.
Crucifixión
2004
Painting
Mixed media on wood

The work Crucifixion takes us back to a universe of a fragile and solitary atmosphere, to a metaphor of existence, life and death. Feeling alone before the horizon, not having before you any God who can guide you or finding yourself on a tightrope where the slightest fused error punished. Navigate between capital sins in a rebellious way, to feed the source of imagination that would be transformed into art and where the universe would become a salvation to redeem the faults.
El sueño del arquitecto
1998
Painting
Mixed media on wood

In the work El sueño del arquitecto (The Dream of the Architect), a character is appreciated making all kinds of balances so as not to cross the threshold that separates us from the abyss. It becomes a work that has unconsciously accompanied artists in recent times. A constant return journey. This work takes on a special relevance, from the deconstruction of Rasero's creative process, where the previous concerns are evident, the work discovers and anticipates what will be his future research work around the study of space.

Summer burst in suddenly with bright colours and an absolute calm rein, nothing moves. Summer is our garden of delights, where time is slow, monotonous and often makes you feel anchored in the middle of a warm and silent ocean. And all of a sudden, summer is over. Seasons repeat themselves, nature continues to be retained in its circle of eternal return. This is the sensation that could be shown in the series De Vegetabilibus.

To walk on the void, on a hole that is filled with time, space, worries or desire, but always breathing on the fragility of the tightrope. Every day we have to face new challenges with full and alive energy. This time, we do not walk on the rope, but we take it with force and we take impulse to make fun of this fragility that scares us so much, without feeling fear of the uncertainty that disturbs them so much.
